Pointwise and CADNexus announce the release of the CAPRI2NMB interface between CADNexus' CAPRI CAE Gateway and Pointwise's Gridgen meshing software. "CADNexus' CAPRI2NMB software provides Gridgen users with a new technique for acquiring CAD data for mesh generation" said John Chawner, Pointwise's president. "CAPRI has earned a great reputation for providing translation-free, direct access to CAD geometry and CAPRI2NMB leverages that to provide an option for Gridgen users who prefer direct CAD access."

CAPRI2NMB is a CAPRI CAE Gateway application that works directly with a CAD system's native kernel. Gridgen's native NMB geometry file is produced automatically by direct queries into the CAD model. The NMB file is then simply imported into Gridgen. CAPRI2NMB complements Gridgen's Native CAD Readers that read CAD native files and Gridgen's built-in IGES import. Because CAPRI2NMB works directly with the CAD software, it has the potential to provide more robust geometry transfer.
